This not being your area is precisely why you should extend the researches some respect, rather than immediately pouncing on any plausible rhetorical trick to make yourself seem expert when you are not.

The fact that nobody in this thread bothered to do their due diligence before pouncing is enough for me to discount their opinions as uninformed.

Warren Buffet writes a bit on this, that once your investable capital grows past a certain point, you're forced to transition away from a value-investing mode and towards more of a "managing large sums of money I have to find places to park" mode, where you no longer have the luxury of passing on 100 overvalued opportunities before pouncing on one undervalued one.

You should probably read the article and the comment I referenced in full, then re-read my post in context before pouncing with your worldview.

EDIT: Minor quibble with one thing you said--No one wants to take time to analyze a problem before pouncing on it.

Maybe it is just because the field is narrow, but I suspect certain academic disciplines believe in some kind of job security, and pouncing on amateurs and pushing them out the door, regardless of their perceived contribution to the field, is paramount.
